The low-cost FSW300 series of flow switches has an adjustable switch point, low pressure drop, instant response, and high repeatability. The CE-compliant device is comprised of a paddle system with a permanent magnet attached. Above the magnet is a reed contact, located outside the flow of fluid. A second magnet with opposing poles creates the force necessary to reset the switch back to the no-flow position. The reed contact used as a sensing element consists of two ferromagnetic contact blades located in a glass bulb filled with inert gas. This practically eliminates wear resulting from contact burning, creating a useful life of up to 100 million switching cycles. The flow switch is well-suited for the water and chemical industries. The series includes several versions, with a maximum switching current of 1 A, maximum switching voltage of 230 V ac/24 V dc, and set point tolerance of ±15%. Prices range from $100 to $160.
