D-Sub Interface Modules Link Sensors To Controllers

Dec. 1, 1999

An easy and cost-effective means of interfacing between sensors and controllers used in industrial control and automation applications is found in the firm's IMDS DIN-rail-mountable, pluggable D-subminiature connector interface module. The unit simplifies the transition from a D-submini connector to individual wires. Units are available with pluggable terminal blocks and either male (plug) or female (receptacle)D-submini connectors. The pluggable modules facilitate rapid system testing, shorter maintenance downtime and simplified construction when shipping subassemblies is required. In the standard 9-to-50-position D-submini configurations, the modules mount on either a DIN rail or directly on a panel. Another feature is the addition of six component holes per circuit. The plated-through holes allow users to easily modify modules by adding components. The 26 to 12 AWG terminal blocks are marked to reduce wiring errors. Custom marking and circuits and special connectors are available.
