EMI Receiver
The N9038A MXE EMI Receiver features a displayed average noise level (DANL) of -163 dBm at 1 GHz and complies with CISPR 16-1-1 2010. Measurement accuracy is ±0.78 dB. The built-in suite of diagnostic tools includes meters, signal and measurement lists, markers, span zoom, zone span, and spectrogram displays. The MXE also is an X-Series Signal Analyzer capable of running a variety of measurement applications such as phase noise.
Electric Field Probe
The laser-powered FL7218 Electric Field Star Probe contains an internal microprocessor to provide linearization, temperature compensation, control, and communications functions. Noise reduction and temperature compensation produce measurements down to 2 V/m without zero adjustment. Microprocessor-based linearization technology provides a 54-dB dynamic range. When rotated about its critical angle mount, the probe supplies a typical isotropic response of ±1.5 dB to 18 GHz. Correction factors provided with the probe can be loaded into the company’s FM7004 Field Monitor to automatically correct the probe readings at user-specified frequencies.
AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation
Conductive Epoxy Flooring
Floropoxy SL Conductive, a 100% solids and solvent-free epoxy floor coating, performs in accordance with EOS and ANSI/ESD STM 7.1, maintaining the capability to dissipate a 5,000-V charge to 0 V in less than 0.01 s. The cross-linked flooring is available in a variety of colors and offers outstanding hardness, chemical resistance, and a glossy reflective finish to help brighten work areas. The dissipative properties are an integral part of the epoxy coating so no special waxes are required to maintain ESD test results over time.
Banana Jack Outlet Adaptor
The Banana Jack Outlet Adaptor for wriststraps and other grounding hardware converts a standard AC wall outlet into a groundable point. The adaptor plugs into a standard duplex receptacle but only the ground plug on the adaptor is functional. Two molded-in plastic blades locate and stabilize the adaptor. The banana jack inside diameter is 0.162” to 0.164” ±0.002”.
Isotropic Field Probe
The Isotropic Field Probe PI-3P for the Smart Fieldmeter® Digital measures the pulsed RF field produced by the microwave radars. A fast sampling capability handles the field strength of RF bursts as short as 1 µs. The probe performs in the frequency range 100 MHz to 18 GHz, 70 to 1,400 V/m, covering the test requirements of MIL-STD-461 and GM and Ford specifications for automotive EMC. It operates with the RFP-05 meter, which supports up to four probes at one time.
Ionizing Station
The Blowoff Station delivers a concentrated flow of ionized air to remove dust and other contaminants from a charged surface. It incorporates the company’s Stay Set Ion Air Jet to minimize the use of compressed air by inducing surrounding airflow at a ratio of 5:1. A flexible hose that holds its position keeps the airflow aimed at a specific spot until bent or moved to another position. A magnetic base facilitates mounting and includes a shutoff valve for controlling force and flow. The station also features a 5-kV power supply, two 10-ft compressed air hoses, and a foot-pedal valve to accommodate hands-free operation.
Surface-Mount Shields
The SMS Surface-Mount Shield Series are circuit-board shields available in 27 one-piece and two-piece design styles and sizes. The shields, manufactured from 0.01” and 0.012” tin-plated steel, provide a shielding effectiveness up to 60 dB and offer cover retention of 1.5 to 2.5 lb/linear inch in the two-piece configuration. Standard and tape-and-reel packaging options are available to accommodate manufacturing requirements.
Flame-Resistant EMI Fabric
EeonTex NW170-PI-20-PV3 is a nonwoven fabric coated with conductive and flame-resistant formulations. The <1-mm thick flexible material suppresses EMI and meets UL 94V-0 and 94VTM-0 tests. The present product has a nominal surface resistivity of 20 ?/sq; any resistance above 10 ?/sq can be customer specified. The fabric, available as roll goods, can be die-cut to shape for proper placement inside electronics.
Silver Conductive Adhesive
Polymer System Supreme 10HT/S-1 is a conductive, silver-filled one-component epoxy compound that withstands temperatures ranging from cryogenic to as high as 400°F. It features high physical strength properties and chemical resistance and meets NASA low-outgassing requirements. Cure can be effected by heating at 250°F for approximately 1 hour or 300°F for 30 minutes, less at higher temperatures. Lap shear strengths exceed 1,800 psi.
Common-Mode Filters
The EMI2121, EMI4182, and EMI4183 Common-Mode Filters (CMFs) with integrated ESD use silicon rather than ceramics or ferrite-based solutions to address EMI suppression. The EMI2121 single-pair, EMI4182 dual-pair, and EMI4183 triple-pair CMFs all offer a common-mode rejection of 15 dB (typical) at 500 MHz and an insertion loss of 1.0 dB at 500 MHz. ESD protection meets a peak discharge of 15 kV per IEC61000-4-2. The filters support an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and each has a clamping voltage of 32 V. The devices are optimized for protecting high-speed differential ports using the MIPI DSI and MIPI CSI2 interface standards and USB 2.0 and provide data speeds of up to 3.4 Gb/s.
Linear Power RF Amplifier
The 5227 is a 500-W broadband amplifier that covers the 80 to 1,000-MHz frequency range. The 3RU unit uses Class A linear power devices that provide 3rd order intercept point, high gain, and wide dynamic range. It can be ordered with either rear- or front-panel N-type connectors, and both versions have Ethernet, IEEE 488, and RS-232 interface capabilities.
Shielded Cabinets
Shielded cabinets, based on the company’s M-series and tested to MIL-STD-461D specifications, feature a rugged steel or aluminum frame, shielded door handles, wrap-foam gasketing around the door with conductive adhesives, EMI filters, copper gasket fingers, and steel-mesh gasket strips. The design also incorporates reinforced corner members, cross bracing, and stiffeners to handle rugged applications. A minimum electric field attenuation of 60 dB from 100 kHz to 1 GHz can be achieved. The M-series complies with MIL-STD-901D and MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration, and a range of accessories, colors, and custom options is available.
Filter Plates With Flash Protection
Bolt-in, EasyMate®, and Shrouded Latch EMI Filter Plates now are available with 1,500 VDC flash protection. The filter plates come in right-angle or straight configurations with Pi, C, and insulated filter circuit options. They also feature capacitance values from 10 pF to 5,000 pF. The Bolt-in filter plates can eliminate the need to assemble filters into a bulkhead, Easy-Mate Filter plates are designed to simplify installation, and Shrouded Latch filter plates secure and protect the filter element from exposure to mechanical shock and vibration.
