Analog Devices Inc. has added 12 amplifiers to its RF portfolio. The devices—which include two low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), five IF amplifiers, three driver amplifiers, and two gain blocks—are fully characterized and specified for both broadband and narrowband applications. To ensure considerable savings in board space and design complexity, the ICs are designed to require the minimum number of external components.
Here’s an overview of some key specs:
• The ADL5521 and ADL5523 LNAs operate from 400 MHz to 4 GHz with a gain of 15 dB and 17.5 dB, respectively, and a noise figure of 0.8 dB and 1.1 dB, respectively. The chips include bias circuitry and require minimal external matching components.
• The ADL553x family of single and dual-channel IF amps support applications using the most common IF frequencies: 70, 140, 190, 240, and 380 MHz. They feature a linearity of 41 dBm while maintaining a noise figure as low as 2.5 dB for optimal signal dynamic range.
• The ADL532x driver amplifiers includes the ADL5320, which operates from 400 MHz to 2.7 GHz with an output linearity of 42 dBm and a 26-dBm output compression point while consuming only 104 mA. The ADL5322 and ADL5323 drivers are optimized for 700 MHz to 1 GHz and 1.7 GHz to 2.4 GHz, respectively, with an output third-order intercept (IP3) of 45 dBm and an output compression point of 28 dBm.
• The two gain blocks operate from low frequencies up to 6 GHz. The ADL5541 provides 15-dB gain and the ADL5542 20 dB. Both feature output linearity of 40 dBm and 50-Ω internal matching.
