Expanding the company's power semiconductor lineup is a broad selection of low on-resistance small-signal MOSFETs (S-MOSFETs) suitable for high-speed switching or for use with dc/dc converters in portable electronics. In 2.8 mm x 2.8 mm and 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm packages, the devices boast of some of the lowest on-resistance and capacitance specs available. The offering includes 17 six-pin devices (SSM6K- and SSM6J-) designed for 0.5A to 2.5A load switching and dc/dc converters operating at 0.5 MHz to 1 MHz. Also on board are 20 three-pin devices (SSM3K- and SSM3J-) suitable for 0.5A to 4A switching devices. The six-pin devices specify on-resistance figures from 30 mΩ to 400 mΩ while the three-pin devices feature on-resistances from 100 mΩ to 400 mΩ. Both groups include N- and P-channel configurations. The S-MOS devices range in price from $0.05 to $0.14 each in sample quantities. TOSHIBA AMERICA ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS INC., San Jose, CA. (408) 526-2400.
