Touted as being the industry’s fastest such device, the ADS5422 14-bit, CMOS A/D converter samples at rates up to 62 Msamples/s. The device has a SNR of 72 dB and a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 85 dB. Operating on a 5V supply, power consumption is 1.2W. Other features include a high bandwidth linear track-and-hold and an internal/external reference option. The ADC has a DNL of ±0.5 LSB, and its clock input accepts a differential sine or square-wave signal as low as 0.5Vp-p. Available in an LQFP-64, the ADS5422 ADC has a starting price of $29 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924, ext 4500.
