Allegro MicroSystems, LLC adds two new factory one-time programmable (OTP-ROM) linear Hall ICs to their existing portfolio.

Allegro MicroSystems, LLC adds two new factory one-time programmable (OTP-ROM) linear Hall ICs to their existing portfolio. These devices eliminate the need for customers to optimize/program the devices for their finished sensor assemblies. Allegro’s A1388 and A1389 architecturally have the ability to support a magnetic input sensitivity range of 2.0 to 4.0 mV/G, and 4.0 to 9.0 mV/G, respectively. However, the A1388 and A1389 devices initially being released to market are factory programmed to specific magnetic input sensitivity levels. Initially released device types include:

a. A1388LLHLX-2-T with 2.5 mV/G sensitivity

b. A1389LLHLX-9-T with 9 mV/G sensitivity

c. A1389LLHLX-RP9-T with -9 mV/G sensitivity

The temperature coefficients for both sensitivity and the quiescent voltage output (QVO) are programmed over temperature at Allegro to maximize accuracy and minimize distribution tolerances. The A1388 and A1389 provide low output noise (15 mV (p-p) @ 9.0 mV/G sensitivity for the A1389) and improved EMI susceptibility at various frequencies. They also support a fast refresh rate of 20 KHz for high bandwidth applications.

The A1388 and A1389 are targeted at the automotive, industrial and consumer markets and are currently being offered in a small LH (SOT-23W) surface mount package.

Pricing for 1,000 pieces is as follows:

a. A1388LLHLX-2-T $1.06

b. A1388LLHLT-2-T $1.08

c. A1389LLHLX-9-T $1.06

d. A1389LLHLT-9-T $1.08

e. A1389LLHLX-RP9-T $1.06

f. A1389LLHLT-RP9-T $1.08
