Two new versions of the NET+ARM network connectivity-on-a-chip devices are said to offer designers performance up to four times faster than the original version. The NET+ARM-15 and -40, at 15 MIPS and 40 MIPS, respectively, support development of a new wave of Internet appliances and Ethernet-connected devices and systems. The devices offer HDLC enhancements to serial ports for fast, bit-oriented synchronous communications for datacomm and industrial automation applications.
