The TSB43AB22 chip is said to be the industry's first integrated link controller and PHY device compatible with version 1.1 of the Open Host Control Interface (OHCI) specification. The IC is said to offer the highest performance among available OHCI solutions that interface 1394 high-speed serial and PCI buses used in most PCs. And it is also said to reduce power dissipation by 40% over existing solutions, consuming In addition, the chip also features intelligent power management, a 1.8V core operating voltage, compatibility with its predecessor, the TSB43AA22, and deep FIFO memories capable of handling the maximum sized asynchronous and isochronous packets. The TSB43AB22 comes housed in 128-lead TQFPs costing $6.49 each/10,000.
