By employing the company's radio architecture, the PT800 multi-purpose RF transceiver is said to reduce the number of parts required for two-way radio transmission applications by about half and to also significantly reduce both power consumption and cost. The device is intended for use over the 220- to 870-MHz and 902- to 928-MHz Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) bands and can operate with a 2.7- to 3.3-V supply voltage. Receiver power consumption is 8 to 10 mW peak. The device is both hardware and software programmable and comes in a 32-LQFP package. Pricing is $4 each in volume.
