Said to be the industry's first full line of course wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) modules, the product family includes transceivers, optical add/drop multiplexers (OADMs), and multiplexers/demultiplexers. The transceivers are available in eight wavelengths between 1,470 and 1,610 nm and the OADMs and multiplexers/demultiplexers provide either four or eight channels. The CWDM module line includes every kind of optical component needed to support a metro access optical data network. In addition, the modules provide support for common protocols, including SONET, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fibre Channel. Data Rates covered by the CWDM modules extend from 100 Mb/s to OC-48 SONET. And the pluggable transceivers are available in GBIC and small-form factors. For prices, contact FINISAR CORP., Sunnyvale, CA. (408) 542-5050.
