Resulting from a licensing agreement with Rambus, the XCG clock generator is earmarked for use with XDR-based memory in consumer, networking, and PC systems. The low-jitter device is capable of delivering the faster clock speeds required by newer, high-bandwidth memory systems. XDR DRAMs, based on Rambus's XDR memory interface technology, are eight times faster than current best-in-class PC memory and are expected to achieve data rates of 3.2 to 6.4 GHz and beyond. This promises to yield system bandwidths up to 100 GB/s over a 128-bit memory data bus. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
