Building on the company’s High Speed Link (HSL) technology, the PCI-7851/7852 HSL master cards connect to the PCI bus with either two (PCI-7851 single) or four (PCI-7852 dual) RJ-45 ports. Said to provide a cost-saving alternative to PLCs, both cards are designed for PC-based, real-time distributed I/O tasks with support for software-programmable logic controllers. Features include full-duplex multidrop serial transmission, 6 Mb/s transmissions, 32 KB of SDRAM, and the ability to scan 1,000 I/O points in less than 1 ms with a refresh rate of 30.1 µS per slave I/O module.
