Exploiting proprietary UltraCMOS silicon-on-sapphire technology, the rad-hard PE926C31 transmitter and PE926C32 receiver operate at 3.3V with a total dose tolerance guaranteed to 300 KRads (Si). The chipset specifies a single-event upset (SEU) immunity of less than 10-10 errors/bit-day and communicates via a standard RS-422 interface. Operating speed is less than 10 ns and no-load power consumption is less than 150 mA. Evaluation kits and tutorials are available on the company's web site. Available in 16-lead CFPs, the chipset is in production now with pricing as per user specifications. PEREGRINE SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Diego, CA. (858) 731-9400.
