Set for deployment in communication and test-and-measurement designs, the latest Analog Devices single- and dual-channel 14-bit A/D converters meet the performance and size requirements of 3G and 4G multi-standard cellular infrastructure equipment. The AD9648 dual ADC consumes 102 mW/channel at 125 Msamples/s and specifies a SFDR figure of 91 dBc at 70 MHz and IF sampling frequencies up to 200 MHz. The AD9642 single-channel converter in a 5 mm x 5 mm package employs IF sampling frequencies up to 350 MHz. It supports bandwidths up to 125MHz and features a SNR of 72.2 dBFS, SFDR of 90 dBc at base band, and an operating power consumption of 360 mW at 250 Msamples/s. Both devices rely on multi-stage, differential pipelined architectures with integrated output-error-correction logic. The AD9648 is available in a 64-lead LFCSP and the AD9642 resides in a 32-lead RoHS-compliant LFCSP. Depending on sampling rate, prices for the AD9648 and AD9642 start at $35 (105 Msamples/s) and $49 (170 Msamples/s) each/1,000, respectively. ANALOG DEVICES, INC., Norwood, MA. (800) 426-2564.
