The TelEnable fax/data card (FDC) interconnect system provides communications interoperability between legacy, current, and future technologies for a variety of applications. Eliminating the extra steps and technology normally needed to make devices talk to each other, the FDC transmits serial data or a digital fax from an analog device via a wireless network. This approach is said to simplify design issues by providing an interface for new protocols, eliminating protocol development trials, and reducing costs and CPU overhead. The FDC employs a touchtone phone and a serial interface for field configuration and works with any wireless phone. Price is about $350. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL. (630) 969-4550.
