ARM Processors Integrate Reversible Linux/Android Debugger Software
Oct. 22, 2013
UndoDB, a C/C++ Linux reversible debugger tool suite, will be integrated into ARM’s DS-5 Development Studio (version 5.16). Undo Software’s UndoDB can record everything performed by any Linux program, and then allows developers to “wind the tape back and forth” to locate their bug. According to Undo Software, bugs that would take weeks to fix can be fixed in minutes with the debugger. A January 2013 study done by MBA students at the Cambridge Judge Business School (U.K.) revealed that software developers, on average, spend 50% of their programming time finding and fixing bugs. Respondents using Undo’s reversible debugging averaged 26% less time debugging.
