It has been announced that worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $23.62 million for the month of April 2013, a0.6% increase from the previous month. Sales numbers were compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and are representative of a three-month moving average.
WSTS also forecasts modest growth in the industry for the remainder of the year, as well as the next, thanks to the demand for memory and logic products. Sales are projected to reach $297.8 billion in 2013, $312.9 billion in 2014, and $324.9 billion by 2015.
All projections have been endorsed by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
