Semiconductor Sales Increase Globally

Semiconductor sales have seen the largest sequential monthly increase in sales since March 2010 thanks to the increasing resiliency of the market.

For the month of May 2013, worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $24.7 billion; a 4.6% increase from the previous month. The numbers represent the largest month-to-month increase the industry has seen in over three years.

Growth was specifically encouraging in the Americas and Asia Pacific with 5.6% and 5.9%, respectively. All statistics were compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and announced by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
