For the month of May 2013, worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $24.7 billion; a 4.6% increase from the previous month. The numbers represent the largest month-to-month increase the industry has seen in over three years.
Growth was specifically encouraging in the Americas and Asia Pacific with 5.6% and 5.9%, respectively. All statistics were compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization and announced by the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).
