Hands-on Power Supply and PFC Design Workshops are Coming

July 19, 2019
Digital power, troubleshooting power supplies, and isolated and bias supply design are just some of the topics on tap.

Mark your calendar—digital and analog power-supply workshops have been announced by Biricha. The company will be running its Digital Power Supply and PFC Design Workshop with STMicroelectronics in Santa Clara, Calif., in September.

The workshop, which will focus on the design of robust and stable digital power supplies using the STM32 range of MCUs, is suitable for both analog power-supply design engineers and embedded-system engineers who need to learn about digital power.

The four-day course’s agenda is:

  • Day 1: Introduction to Digital Power Programming
  • Day 2: Digital Power Supply Design
  • Day 3: Peak Current Mode Control and Running Multiple Control Loops
  • Day 4: Digital PFC Design & Implementation

Biricha will also be running an in-depth Analog Power Supply Design workshop in Houston, Texas, this October. Covering general principles of stable power-supply design from dc-dc and PoL to bias supplies and isolated offline PSUs, this workshop is aimed at design engineers who need to design and/or troubleshoot modern high-performance power supplies.

This four-day course’s agenda is as follows:

  • Day 1: Introduction PSU Design, Control Theory, Test and Measurement
  • Day 2: Peak Current Mode Control, Power Transformers and Snubber Design
  • Day 3: Isolated & Bias Supply Design including optocoupler characterization
  • Day 4:  Analog PFC Design Step-by-Step

This Analog PSU workshop will be preceded by an optional Control Systems Design seminar run by servomatter.com.

All attendees of these workshops will also receive a complimentary license for Biricha’s comprehensive PSU design software WDS.
