Relying on the company's TruePower technology to minimize dynamic errors, the IR3721 output-power monitor accurately captures dynamic-power information with 2.5% accuracy at 65°C. The IC measures dynamic power at the output/load side of voltage regulators and monitors the output inductor current in buck or multiphase converters from 0.5V to 1.8V. It offers the option of using resistive sensing or inductor DCR current sensing with an internal thermal compensation feature to achieve 1% higher efficiency when compared to similar devices. Available in a lead-free, 10-pin DFN package, pricing for the IR3721MTRPBF starts at $0.95 each/10,000. For more information, contact Graham Robertson at INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA.
