Ready for power conversion duties in computer and communications systems, the cascaded, dc/dc controller-driver chipset consists of the LM5041 current-mode pulse width modulated (PWM) controller and the LM5101 and LM5102 100V, half-bridge power MOSFET drivers. The LM5041 integrates a buck pre-regulator controller synchronized to push-pull MOSFET drivers with peak currents of 2A and programmable dead time. Features include a user-programmable 1 MHz oscillator, external clock synchronization capability and a current limit propagation delay time of less than 100 ns. The LM5101 and LM5102 drive the high side and low side n-channel MOSFETs in a synchronous buck or a half-bridge configuration. Both are similar with the exception of a user-programmable turn-on edge delay feature on the LM5102. The LM5041 and LM5101/5102 will be available for sampling in April with volume production in June and September, respectively. The LM5041 comes in a LLP-16 package priced at $2.55 each/1,000 and the LM5101 and LM5102 in LLP-10 packages are priced at $1.75 and $1.79, respectively, each/1,000.
