The USB power management switch mart has gained a new family of devices that is said to offer the lowest resistance available today- low resistance is required to reduce voltage loss at downstream USB ports. Allowing USB hub ports to be individually powered on or off by the USB system controller, IMP2525A single-channel power distribution switch boasts of a max. resistance of only 70 milliohms, while two-channel IMP2526 and single-channel IMP2525 have 140 milliohm resistance. The high-side switches are in series with 5V supplies and are used to switch currents up to 500 mA. They also have fault protection features and a soft-start function and are available with either active-high or active-low enable signal options.
