Leakage Detector IC Stabilizes Automotive Systems

July 4, 2013
Automotive-grade leakage detection IC for ac outlets in electric and hybrid vehicles.

An automotive-grade leakage detection IC, the BD9582F-M from ROHM, is designed specifically for ac inverters and chargers for ac outlets in electric and hybrid vehicles. Integrating leakage detector and amplifier, the IC features a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C, and it protects against electromagnetic radiation. The device is AEC-Q100-certified, ensuring stable, reliable operation of ac outlets in automotive systems. The device also complies with semiconductor standard AEC-Q100 for automotive applications and utilizes proprietary technology combined with a circuit designed for improved cutoff (interrupt) performance and greater system safety. Further circuit optimization lowers current consumption to 330 µA, prolonging battery life while maintaining high reliability operation. The IC is especially suited for high sensitivity and a highspeed operation use. Available now in a SOP8 package, the BD9582F-M leakage detection IC is compatible with ac 100 V ~ 240 V.
