Specially designed power modules bring N+1 redundant power to 4400 W in VadaTech’s new MicroTCA.4-compliant 8U-high chassis. MicroTCA.4 systems typically use double modules with a rear-transition-module (RTM) connector for rear I/O. Adding RTM and higher-power large module elevates the chassis’ overall power requirement, and numerous applications require full power redundancy in the system. To address that issue, VadaTech’s VT813 chassis features four 1100-W power supplies in an N+1 redundant power configuration. By aligning the power supplies on the side of the card cage, the chassis can provide 12 double-module, mid-sized slots. Its 40 Gigabit Ethernet-ready backplane incorporates a high dielectric material for clean signals. Full redundancy includes dual fan trays in a push/pull configuration, dual MicroTCA carrier hubs (MCHs), and four power supplies. The chassis also integrates dual field-replaceable unit (FRU) information devices and carrier locators, a JTAG switch module slot, and telco alarm.
