Four series of open-frame ac-dc power supplies developed by CUI Inc. offer an extended range of 30 to 85 W. The VOF series accommodate a universal input voltage of 90 ~ 277 V ac at 47- to 63-Hz input. Efficiencies reach up to 90%, and no-load power consumption drops as low as 0.18 W. Specifically available in 30-, 50-, 70-, and 85-W versions, the supplies have output voltage options of 5, 12, 18, 24, 28, and 48 V dc, depending on the series. All include output-voltage adjustability of ±5% via an onboard potentiometer. The VOF-30, -50, and -70 models operate at 100% load from ‒20 to 50°C, derating to 50% load at 60°C. The VOF-85 operates at 100% load from ‒20 to 40°C, also derating to 50% load at 60°C. Units measure 4.00 by 2.00 by 1.32 in. (the 30-W series measures 3.54 by 2.00 by 0.83 in.). All incorporate overvoltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection.
