Coilcraft's new Cx family of EMI chokes

New EMI Chokes Target Consumer Electronics and Industrial Apps

June 28, 2019
Coilcraft’s new family of EMI chokes with current ratings of up to 10 A can withstand a maximum reflow temperature of 260°C.

Coilcraft’s new Cx family of surface-mount common-mode chokes includes 16 sizes/configurations for a broad range of power-line circuits. They suppress high-frequency common-mode noise up to 100 MHz and offer greater than 40 dB common-mode attenuation, suiting them for use in consumer electronics and industrial applications, according to the company.

The company says all Cx family EMI chokes feature a low-profile, toroidal construction in a surface-mount, magnetically shielded package with footprints as small as 13 x 13 mm. They're available with current ratings of up to 10 A (Irms) and provide 1000/1500 Vrms isolation (hipot) between windings. The chokes feature RoHS-compliant tin-silver-copper over tin over nickel over phosphor bronze terminations and can withstand a maximum reflow temperature of 260°C.
