Vishay Intertechnology's IHPT-1411AF-AB0 customizable haptic feedback actuator targets applications like touchscreens, joysticks, and touch switch panels. The rugged actuator is designed to work with LCD displays for commercial applications like factory automation and control systems, electronic point of sale (POS) systems and medical monitoring and diagnostic equipment. It delivers high impulse pulse and vibration capability which is key for delivering good tactile feedback in noisy environments.
The IHPT-1411AF-AB0 has a fast response time that is under 5 ms. Different haptic effects can be produced by varying the power. Its nominal operating voltage of 12 V up to a maximum of 16 V. The device can drive a 0.5 kg load to 6 g of acceleration with a 12 V, 5 ms pulse. The driving coil has an inductance of 1.8 mH, typical DCR of 0.95 W, and a coil to core dielectric withstand voltage of 150 VDC.
The device’s simple bobbin and core components can eliminating the need for additional housing. It also provides designers with control over the spring and housing layout.
