With its 30% increase in thermal performance, the 65W R65 family of switching power supplies reportedly can operate at full loads to 60°C compared to 40°C to 45°C for others in its class. The new single-output power supply units (PSUs) have a standard, 3" x 5" footprint, a universal autoranging input voltage range of 90 to 265 Vac, and compliance with industrial and commercial EMI/EMC requirements, as well as UL1950, EN60950, and other safety standards. The 65W switchers come in five models spanning outputs from 5V to 48V and current values from 1.35A to 12A. Other features of the PSUs include short-circuit protection, 1% Vp-p at maximum load, and ±1% line and load regulation. The R65s are priced at about $35 each/100.
