Boasting a power density of 6.25W per cubic inch, a new single output ac/dc power converter packs 400W into a package measuring 2"H x 4"W x 8"L, including an end-mounted fan and cover. Capable of peak loads up to 1.7 times nominal output current ratings, the SMQ400 power supply eliminates the need for larger, more powerful, more expensive models to handle peak conditions. The supply accepts inputs from 90 to 264 Vac and has active PFC to meet international EN61000-3-2 standards. Eight SMQ400 models have output voltages ranging from 12 to 54 Vdc. Full power can be achieved from 0°C to 50°C and up to 70°C with derating. Each model has an optional constant current version. This option expands the converter’s operation to be suitable for battery charging applications. High peak load capability and terminal block connectors make the supply suitable for industrial applications. The SMQ400 is designed with remote sense, dc good signals, remote on/off functions, internal cooling fans, over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current protection with auto recovery. It has international safety agency approvals and carries the CE Mark LVD. Pricing starts at $139/1,000. XPIQ INC., Holliston, MA. (508) 429-9883.
