DC/DC Converters Squeeze 50% More Juice Out Of SIP4

Nov. 18, 2011
MEE3 series single-output 3W DC/DC converters output 50% more power than previous 2W components in the same single-in-line four-pin packages (SIP4).

MEE3 series single-output 3W DC/DC converters output 50% more power than previous 2W components in the same single-in-line four-pin packages (SIP4). Compared to 3W converters in dual-in-line 24-pin packages (DIP24), the MEE3 series is smaller, achieving a 200% increase in power density from 0.9 to 2.68 W/cm3. Two modules provide either 5- or 12-Vdc inputs and nominal outputs of 5, 9, 12 or 15 Vdc are available across the full MEE3 range. Other features include efficiencies from 83% to 89% depending on model, no additional forced-air cooling or heatsinks required, load regulation ranging from 2.7% to 6.3%, 1-kV input-to-output isolation, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
