Power Seminars to Focus on Energy Efficiency

The eighth season of Fairchild Semiconductor’s global seminars will discuss energy efficiency by way of emerging technologies and key design issues.

For the eighth season of Fairchild Semiconductors’ global technical power seminars, “Engineering Energy Efficiency” will be the encompassing topic. The one-day, comprehensive seminar will combine new power supply concepts, reviews of basic design principles, and real-world application examples. The seminars will begin in Europe in September 2013 with 13 locations, following 13 cities in the Americas and 4 in Asia.

The seminars will not focus on products, but on technologies and techniques within the industry. These topics range from emerging technologies such as current shaping strategies for buck PFC, to design issues in key applications such as low-voltage dc-dc converters. They are ideal both for engineers looking to learn more about the latest advancements, as well as those who are looking for a basic refresher.

Topics for technical sessions include: The LLC Resonant Converter: Design Issues and Solutions, Driving HB-LEDs in High-Power Industrial Fixtures, Current Shaping Strategies for Buck Power Factor Correction, Improve Flyback Design Performance with a Rapid Iteration Approach, and Evolution in Packaging for Optimum Efficiency and Size in Low Voltage DC-DC Applications.
