Component Management System Improves Part Searches

PartMiner's CAPS Connect ES component management system improves the effectiveness of components searches.

PartMiner’s CAPS Connect ES component management system improves the effectiveness of components searches. This enterprise solution features a Biased Intelligent Searching capability that automatically “corrects” misspelled words and corrupted part numbers, and the ability to address environmental regulations such as RoHS. The CAPS Connect database includes component data from numerous vendors of power ICs.

The Intelligent Searching capability enables users to locate component parts when only limited information is available. For example, users are now able to find parts with only partial, incorrect or corrupted part numbers. The system also can locate parts without a part number by using words or descriptions, and has the ability to search for parts even with manufacturer name changes. To help ensure RoHS compliance, the system shows the material content for each searched part and lists several replacement options for parts that are not compliant.

A number of power IC manufacturers feed product information and updates directly to PartMiner for inclusion in the CAPS Connect ES database. These include NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductor), Texas Instruments, ST Microelectronics, Intersil, ON Semiconductor, Fairchild Semiconductor, Semtech, National Semiconductor, and International Rectifier. Others that auto feed data include Actel, Analog Devices, Atmel, Freescale, Holt Integrated Circuit, Lattice Semi., Linear Technology, Maxim Integrated Products, and Optek Technology.
