TE Connectivity Demonstrates High-speed Interconnect

January 29, 2013. Anritsu said that its MP1800A BER Tester is part of live high-speed next-generation demonstrations conducted by TE Connectivity at DesignCon. The demonstrations will run live throughout the show in TE's booth.

One demonstration featuring the MP1800A will highlight the performance of TE’s QSFP+ active optical cable, a device that operates at 56 Gb/s (4×14 Gb/s) and supports the InfiniBand standard’s most recent FDR (fourteen data rate) speed. Additionally, the MP1800A will be included in three other demonstrations that will display the electrical performance and versatility of TE’s 25-40 Gb/s STRADA Whisper connector and how it  enables high-speed connectivity for today’s and tomorrow’s  architectures.

“By furnishing the MP1800A for our various demonstrations at DesignCon, Anritsu provides us with the high-end capability we need to showcase the performance of our next-generation connectors and cables. TE is focused on developing advanced technologies, and Anritsu shares that commitment,” said Matt Davis, TE application engineer.

The MP1800A was selected by TE, in part, because it is a modular BERT with a built-in pulse pattern generator (PPG) that supports output of high-quality, low intrinsic jitter signals. In addition, the MP1800A has a built-in Error Detector (ED) with high input sensitivity of 10 mV. It also supports signal analyses, including bathtub and Q measurements.
