Yokogawa Corp. of America appoints new COO

July 7, 2014. Yokogawa Corp. of America announced that Daniel L. Duncan has become the chief operating officer effective July 1. In this position, Duncan will be responsible for assessing the current sales channel partners for North America and implement the best practices of a global company with a product, systems, software, and services portfolio.

Duncan began his professional career as an engineer with Georgia Power Company. Then as part owner he led a systems integration firm focused on both discrete and process-automation projects. This was followed by a sales position in industrial distribution before joining Honeywell as both a systems and application consultant in the Industrial Automation and Control sales organization. Duncan joined Siemens Energy & Automation in 1997 holding various management roles in automation marketing and regional sales and finally led the U.S. industrial sales organization. Duncan’s most recent responsibilities were as VP and general manager of the Oil & Gas Division of Siemens Energy Inc. based in Houston, TX. His divisional portfolio included power generation, compression, conceptual engineering, real-time data intelligence solutions, process safety engineering, water treatment solutions, integrated electrical solutions, and subsea products.

Chet Mroz, president and CEO of Yokogawa Corp. of America, had the following to say about this appointment: “Daniel Duncan has successfully managed the buildup of the Siemens Oil & Gas capability in the United States. His extensive knowledge and experience in the industrial automation, electrical, power, process equipment, and engineering service businesses across our key industry markets is a significant addition to the Yokogawa Corp. of American executive team.”

Duncan earned a B.S.E.E. from The Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been an active member of the Greater Houston Partnership, a volunteer supporter of the First Tee of Houston and Boys and Girls Country.
