IntelliSense.io showcases Intelligent Factory at Hannover Messe

April 14, 2015

Industry 4.0 specialist IntelliSense.io will showcase the latest upgrades to its Intelligent Factory solution at Hannover Messe. IntelliSense.io specializes in delivering “Optimization as a Service” with rapid ROI and no upfront capital investment for process industries.

IntelliSense.io solutions are used by Europe’s leading semiconductor manufacturing company, the world’s largest uranium mining company, and large global OEM among others.

The IntelliSense.io Intelligent Factory solution portfolio includes several system optimization applications. At Hannover Messe, IntelliSense.io will demonstrate its Plant Utility System Optimization application, which delivers significant plant energy and operational efficiency improvements. IntelliSense.io’s systems enable customers to take advantage of Industry 4.0 capabilities and deliver significant capital efficiency.

As a major addition to the Intelligent Factory solution, the company will be previewing its new product Brains Virtual Optimization Simulator (VOS). Brains VOS provides an offline system simulation environment that is calibrated continuously with real-time data allowing engineers and plant operators to evaluate the performance and commercial impact of process and equipment changes. The product design has also incorporated web and mobile application development principles of simplicity and ease of use for both technical and nontechnical users.

At the heart of IntelliSense.io Intelligent Factory solutions, the Brains WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) product utilizes Linear Technology’s SmartMesh wireless sensor networking modules LTP5900-WHM (external antenna) and LTP5901-WHM (on-chip antenna). These modules deliver ultralow power operation and >99.999% data reliability, ensuring that Brains WSN can be retrofitted and deployed in a varied range of operating conditions. Brains WSN is being used in process plants to rapidly deploy parallel data acquisition infrastructure without any interference to existing control systems.

Intelligent Factory and its products will be showcased at the Linear Technology stand at the Hannover Messe and will feature live demonstrations on the benefits it delivers. Visitors to the stand will discover how the following has been achieved by the deployment of the solution at a leading German process plant:

  • electrical and thermal energy savings,
  • continuous verification of leakages in compressed air and gasses, and
  • extending operating life of current assets.

Joy Weiss, president of Linear Technology’s Dust Networks group said, “SmartMesh wireless sensor networks are being used extensively in harsh industrial locations in order to optimize business operations. By joining real-time sensor data with enterprise level analytics, IntelliSense.io’s Intelligent Factory will enable end users to improve efficiency in their plants.”

Sam G. Bose, CEO of IntelliSense.io, said, “With the move towards the Industry 4.0 era of delivering services that combine traditional operational technologies and modern computing technologies, process plants can have a dramatic impact on improving their yield, productivity of their workforce, and efficiency of their existing systems with limited upfront capital expenditure. The capability and knowledge IntelliSense.io delivers is based on combining traditional systems knowledge with real time data to enable efficiency improvements that were not possible before.”
