GL enhances protocol simulation and conformance test tool

GL Communications Inc. announced today its enhanced Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS) conformance-test-tool platform. Now in version 6.4.22, the enhanced MAPS platform now supports simulation of SIP UA, IuCS, MGCP, H.248/Megaco, GSM-A, and BICC protocols, and it provides non-reference-based voice quality measurement using E-Model (R-factor) and MOS with five mapping scales.

“MAPS HD network appliance is designed to easily achieve 4 to 20,000 endpoints per 1U server,” said Jagdish Vadalia, a senior manager for product development. “It is available as special purpose 1U network appliance that is capable of high volume of sustained calls (tens of thousands of simultaneous calls/1U platform).”

MAPS is also enhanced to support call simulation and protocol test automation using a command line interface (CLI). MAPS can be configured as server-side application to enable remote controlling of the application through multiple command-line-based clients. There are enhancements introduced to the applications’ call generation and reception window with a GUI feature that now enables user to add new instance in call generation, by which a default script and profile are pre-set.

Abort and stop functionality has been modified for better performance. The onfiguration profile has been enhanced to include improved an profile editor and now MAPS includes a new interface for the script editor that provides a user-friendly and quick way to find not only all commands, but also easily find defined variables, import/export files, message templates, labels, and globally defined timers. Enhanced script features include script debugging, script profiling, and script coverage options.
