Samtec releases expansion connector sample kits for makers

May 18, 2017

New Albany, IN. Samtec has announced the release of four Expansion Connector Sample Kits for Makers. These new kits allow continued growth and stacking of the most popular electronics platforms using standard 0.100-inch (2.54-mm) centerline IDC cables, sockets, and headers.

Rapid prototyping of innovative projects using open-source electronic platforms typically

requires basic connectors and cable assemblies. Samtec has developed Expansion Connector Sample Kits for four of the most popular platforms:

  • Arduino Uno R3 Expansion Connector Sample Kit,
  • BeagleBone Black Expansion Connector Sample Kit,
  • ARM mbed Application Board Expansion Connector Sample Kit, and
  • Raspberry Pi 3 Expansion Connector Sample Kit.

“Makers and tech-savvy DIYers demand solutions that simplify the design process,” said Matt Burns, product marketing manager at Samtec Inc. “Samtec’s Expansion Connector Sample Kits for Makers remove the guess work in identifying the correct interconnect solutions for prototyping with the most popular electronics platforms.”

Samtec’s Expansion Connector Sample Kits for Makers will be available in early summer from distributors or directly from Samtec. The Expansion Connector Sample Kits for Makers will debut at Maker Faire Bay Area in San Mateo, CA, from May 19-21, 2017.
