Version 2.03 of the USB protocol expert analysis software provides users of the company's USB analyzers the ability to capture, decode and analyze picture transfer protocol (PTP) traffic, reportedly making these analyzers the market's first to support PTP decoding. The software's added functionality promises accelerated product development times. PTP is a standard device driver used by digital still cameras to transfer images. It allows image files to be transferred between the camera and peripheral devices via the USB without a specific device driver. The V2.03 software release supports the company's Advisor, USBMobile Classic, USBMobile High Speed, USBTracer/Trainer Classic, and USBTracer/Trainer High Speed protocol analyzers. The USBMobile and USBTracer/Trainer protocol analyzers are available now with PTP support. Existing USB analyzer users with current maintenance agreements will receive the software release free of charge. COMPUTER ACCESS TECHNOLOGY CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (408) 727-6600.
