With the ability to test a wireless device’s protocol stack from radio to application layers, the S-CAT 6010 wireless protocol test system reportedly replaces a bench full of equipment with a cost-sensitive, compact test platform. The 19-in. unit performs tests in true-to-life network conditions such as poor or disruptive radio connectivity and high or fluctuating network latency. Scenarios are highly repeatable and diagnostic information is clear. The system can test two devices connected to each other (mobile to mobile) through one S-CAT system. It supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, W-CDMA, and UMA/GAN and suits a wide variety of test scenarios. These include the development of unique feature sets, chipset tests, mobile-to-mobile capabilities for real-time testing between two devices including audio-codec analysis, messaging, and content sharing, and point-to-point secure communications.
