Generator/Analyzer Team Analyzes WLAN IEEE 802.11ac To 160 MHz

Feb. 28, 2013
Signal and spectrum analyzer combines with vector signal generator to offer ability to generate and analyze IEEE 802.11ac WLAN signals with 160 MHz bandwidth.

With the FSV-K91ac signal and spectrum analyzer option, Rohde & Schwarz has tailored its mid-range measuring instruments to handle WLAN signals in line with IEEE 802.11ac. In addition, using the SMBV100A vector signal generator along with the FSV analyzer, manufacturers of WLAN chipsets, components and devices can now generate and analyze signals with 160 MHz bandwidth. In the 5 GHz ISM band, the generator offers a signal performance of 0.44% EVM for 160 MHz signals. The generator allows developers to run receiver tests on individual chipsets, receivers and terminals. Not only can the analyzer now be used for recording and demodulating a WLAN IEEE 802.11ac signal in its full bandwidth of up to 160 MHz, it can also be used for spectral measurements and modulation analyses. In addition to WLAN, both new instrument options also cover standards such as GSM/EDGE, 3GPP WCDMA, HSPA, LTE, NFC and Bluetooth. The new options for the SMBV100A and the FSV-K91ac will be available soon.
