Rohde & Schwarz Presents T&M Portfolio at electronica
At electronica 2016, Rohde & Schwarz (hall A1, booth 307) is presenting a full portfolio of test-and-measurement solutions. Among these is the new R&S NRPM OTA, allowing users in development and production to calibrate a transmit antenna’s output power and test its beamforming function using a simple test setup.
The company’s 5G test setup at electronica will consist of an R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and an R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyzer. This combination offers the flexibility and T&M functionality required to test solutions for candidate waveforms and new frequency bands, for example.
The R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyzer analyzes FMCW chirp signals up to 2 GHz bandwidth and covers the 24 GHz and 79 GHz frequency bands allocated to automotive radars with a single device, requiring no additional, external frequency converters.
The company’s R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester offers car manufacturers a solution for performing RF and audio tests on infotainment systems. The test platform is suitable for use in development, production and service and can be used to simulate Bluetooth, WLAN, LTE-A, WCDMA or GSM networks.
Many highly integrated components are developed for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and are equipped with an air interface. The R&S CMW wideband radio communication tester und the R&S RT-ZVC04 probe can be used to test and monitor, for example, the data throughput and volume of LTE transmissions at these interfaces, and to measure and monitor the current drain of these components with high resolution.
For measurements on highly integrated embedded designs, Rohde & Schwarz will present its R&S RTO2000 digital oscilloscope, which is designed for multi-domain applications. The oscilloscope allows developers to analyze the interaction between the various functional units of these complex designs.
The R&S RTO2000 and R&S RTE digital oscilloscopes can now be used in combination with the new, extremely low-noise R&S RT-ZP1X probe to carry out power measurements down to the millivolt range. This functionality is essential for measuring power integrity on embedded designs as used, for example, in IoT applications.
Also on display is the R&S Scope Rider, the first handheld oscilloscope with the functionality and touch and feel of a state-of-the-art lab scope. Its rugged design makes it perfect for mobile installation and maintenance work. The instrument features isolated input and communications interfaces. It meets CAT IV standards and can carry out measurements on low-voltage installation sources up to 600 V.
The R&S ESW EMI test receiver is designed for applications in manufacturers‘ EMI labs and in test houses. The instrument’s ultrafast FFT-based time domain scan delivers standard-compliant measurements in just seconds; these measurements can even be run with two CISPR detectors in parallel. The R&S ESW offers an exceptionally wide dynamic range and outstanding level accuracy. It can be used for EMI measurements starting from 2 Hz, such as those required in the A&D and automotive sectors.
The R&S ZNBT20 is the first true multiport network analyzer to offer up to 16 integrated test ports for operation up to 20 GHz. The high number of test ports makes it possible to perform signal integrity tests for transmission standards with high data rates. In combination with the R&S ZNBT-K20 option for extended time domain analysis, the R&S ZNBT can display eye diagrams, rise time, and skew.
