Rohde & Schwarz to Transfer DOCSIS Portfolio to Calian

July 30, 2024
The Calian Group will be taking over the R&S DOCSIS portfolio, consisting of R&S's DSA signal analyzer, CLGD cable load generator, and SFD signal generator.

Rohde & Schwarz plans to transfer its DOCSIS portfolio, consisting of the R&S DSA signal analyzer, R&S CLGD cable load generator, and R&S SFD signal generator, to the Calian Group, a partner since June 2011. The comapnies jointly developed test and measurement instruments for DOCSIS, and Calian will now develop and distribute the portfolio. Contractual agreements between the two partners will help ensure a smooth transition for existing customers.

The Calian Group is a products and services company providing healthcare, communications, learning, and cybersecurity solutions, and the transfer of the DOCSIS product portfolio underscores the company's commitment to growth.

According to Werner Dürport, Product Manager at Rohde & Schwarz and responsible for the DOCSIS portfolio, “As we hand over our DOCSIS portfolio to Calian, we want to assure our customers that their needs remain our top priority. Calian has been a trusted partner since 2011, and their commitment to excellence in delivering technical solutions and products aligns with our own values. Calian will continue to provide the high level of service and support that our customers expect. We believe this move is in the best interest of our customers, especially with the continued evolution of DOCSIS technology.”

Dan Coode, Vice President of Terrestrial at Calian’s Advanced Technologies business unit said, “We want this transition to be as seamless as possible, and customers can expect to continue to receive the same excellent customer service they had at Rohde & Schwarz. We are very excited to expand our portfolio with these exceptional Rohde & Schwarz products and make them our own.”

Calian's DOCSIS test and measurement products will target RF and physical-layer diagnostics for laboratory testing and in-field monitoring. Rights for the aforementioned products will formally transfer to Calian on August 1, 2024, and warranties will remain in effect for their full duration, with Calian providing long-term product support going forward.
