BEAVERTON, OR—RIGOL Technologies announces a significant expansion to its UltraVision II oscilloscope portfolio with the introduction of the New MSO8000 Series Digital Oscilloscope. Delivering Bandwidth up to 2 GHz Bandwidth and a new Jitter and Real-Time Eye Analysis package the MSO8000 Series extends RIGOL's value proposition into serial data analysis and signal integrity applications.
The MSO8000 delivers the same 7-instruments-in-1 capability as the other UltraVision II Oscilloscopes. Logic Analysis, Protocol Analysis, Spectrum Analysis, and Waveform Generation are all built into the instrument maximizing utility. Advanced analysis capabilities like Zone Triggering, Histogram, enhanced FFT, Precision Measurements and Power Analysis makes the MSO8000 the perfect solution for today's complex embedded and IoT challenges. With the new Jitter and Real-Time Eye Analysis option engineers can now also accurately analyze serial transmissions for failures caused by timing, noise, bandwidth, and interference. Jitter and eye diagram analysis works with existing histogram and precision measurement functions to help characterize signal quality in real-time making the MSO8000 a powerful performance debug solution for serial data integrity.
"The MSO8000 allows RIGOL to support an entirely new application space. With the addition of the Jitter and Real-Time Eye Analysis combined with bandwidth up to 2 GHz, engineers now have an affordable option for their most demanding embedded design challenges," says Michael Rizzo, General Manager of RIGOL North America. "Jitter and Eye Analysis packages have historically been limited to significantly more expensive units leaving engineers in these markets to do without or roll their own. Now engineers trying to maximize performance and signal integrity will have a powerful and affordable new tool to complete their designs."
The MSO8000 is built around RIGOL's UltraVision II architecture and its Phoenix chip-set. Two custom ASICs provide analog front end and signal processing performance. These chips are surrounded by a high performance hardware design including Xilinx Zync-7000 SoC, Dual Core Arm-9 Processors, Linux +Qt Operating System, High Speed DDR System Memory and QDRII Display memory. This architecture enables a high waveform capture rate of 600,000 wfms/sec, color graded intensity display, and outstanding time-base accuracy and jitter performance.
"The new Phoenix chip set has enabled us to deliver a fantastic new line of products delivering unprecedented value to our customers. We are very excited to break through the 1GHz barrier in order to bring the RIGOL value proposition to a new application space." continues Michael Rizzo. "With category leading memory depth, sampling, and analysis options delivered at a starting price of only $7999, we encourage customers who need complete signal quality analysis to consider the performance, features, and value of the RIGOL MSO8000 Series Digital Oscilloscope."
