MOSFET Thermal Simulation Tool Extends Simulation Accuracy

June 28, 2010
The ThermaSim online MOSFET thermal simulation tool now offers increased simulation accuracy, efficiency, and user friendliness.

The ThermaSim online MOSFET thermal simulation tool now offers increased simulation accuracy, efficiency, and user friendliness. A free tool, it allows performing thermal simulations before prototyping and is allegedly the first online MOSFET simulator that uses structurally detailed power MOSFET models created using finite element analysis techniques to increase simulation accuracy. Users can also define other heat-dissipating components and simulate their effect on the MOSFET's thermal operation. To improve simulation accuracy, component pads/footprints are separated from the component model. Other features include a higher internal/external meshing resolution.
