The Xilinx Zynq-7000 All-Programmable SoC Mini-Module Plus system-on-module (SOM) is the latest addition to Avnet Electronics Marketing’s customizable Mini-Module Plus Development System platform. The SOM, based on the Zynq-7000 SC7Z100 system-on-a-chip (SoC), incorporates 1 Gbyte of DDR3 SDRAM, flash memory, 10/100/100 Ethernet PHY, USB 2.0 OTG port, microSD card socket, USB-UART port, system clock, eight gigabit transceivers (MGTs), and 132 user I/O pins. The I/O pins can be configured as single-ended signals or low-voltage differential system (LVDS) pairs. The Mini-Module Plus Development system consists of a baseboard, FPGA/SoC module, power module, and optional FPGA mezzanine card (FMC). According to the company, combining the SoC module with the Mini-Module Plus baseboard and power module helps accelerate prototyping of design concepts, which facilitates moving of modules to a custom designed system.
