Known as a RF and microwave specialty components distributor, Richardson Electronics, Ltd. and semiconductor manufacturer Nordic VLSI announced the signing of a new distribution agreement between the companies. Under terms of the agreement, Richardson will serve as the sole distributor of Nordic's nRF0433, a 433-MHz single-chip wireless transceiver circuit. The device, a true single-chip transceiver, enables users to build a two-way 9.6 kbit per second radio talk link for the 433-MHz ISM band. The distribution agreement covers the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific Rim and calls for the addition of several new products for the 433-MHz ISM band family as well as the 900-MHz and 2.45-GHz ISM bands.
