Based on the Atmel AT91SAM9263 processor with a 32-bit ARM instruction set, the Relio R9 embedded RISC platform is well-suited for applications requiring small size, a wide operating temperature range, and flexible I/O connectivity. The platform comes with up 256 Mbytes of RAM and up to 256 Mbytes of flash memory. Standard I/O includes Ethernet, serial, USB, CAN Bus, and digital and analog interfaces. For local or remote I/O expansion, the Relio R9 connects to the company’s SeaI/O modules via the dedicated RS-485 expansion port and communicates via RS-485 Modbus RTU. The system’s Windows CE 6.0 BSP binary and low-level drivers for system I/O speed time to market. Additionally, the R9 software package is equipped with the Talos I/O Framework, which offers a high-level object-oriented .NET Compact Framework device interface. This interface provides an I/O point abstraction layer with built-in support for the specific needs of analog and digital I/O such as gain control and debouncing. Operating temperature range is ?40°C to 85°C. Relio R9 prices start at $599. SEALEVEL SYSTEMS INC., Liberty, SC. (864) 843-4343.
