The LTC4440 100V, transient-tolerant high-side n-channel MOSFET driver promises to minimize switching losses in power supplies. Available in SOT-23 and eight-lead MSOPs, the device operates at 80V (100V transient) and exhibits a peak pull-up output current of 2.4A and a pull-down impedance of 1.5W. It is also said to improve dc/dc converter efficiency and output power by reducing MOSFET gate drive fall and rise times to 7 ns and 10 ns, respectively, when driving 1,000 pF loads. Other features include high-side and low-side under-voltage lockout circuits that disable and protect the external MOSFET and an operating temperature range from −40°C to +85°C. Pricing starts at $1.75 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
