Debuting as the market's only 3V, eight-channel multi-protocol transceiver, the SP3508 delivers data rates up to 20 Mb/s while supporting up to eight unique communication protocols. Operating in either DTE or DCE mode, supported protocols include RS232 (V.28), EIA530 (V.10 and V.11), X.21 (V.11), EIA530A (V.10/V.11), RS449/V.36 (V.10/V.11), and V.35 (V.35/V.28). Working from a 3V power supply, the TTL I/O lines are conditioned to LVTTL signal levels, eliminating the need for external logic translators. A patented intelligent charge pump generates ±5.5V to support the output voltage swings required for serial communications standards. The device is configured for V.35 and V.11 protocols via integrated termination resistors that are software configurable. Available in a 100-pin LQFP, price is $24.50 each/1,000.
